How to Find the Perfect Ring

Wedding and engagement rings are some of the most meaningful and personal pieces of jewelry we will ever wear. Your wedding ring especially will be something you will be wearing for the rest of your lives together. It is essential therefore to take the time and effort to choose a ring with enduring meaning as well as appeal.

Planning in advance is a good way to ensure you do not end up with impulse buys or a less than suitable piece. The first thing to do is of course to set your budget. Next, research various styles and materials available in that price range.

While gold has been the traditional choice for wedding and engagement rings(In Danish forlovelsesringe), many couples these days also experiment with platinum, colored gold (pink, white etc) or even silver. Using precious stones in the rings design is also very common. While a diamond is a classic choice for such occasions, many engaged couples also go in for other stones with special meaning such as the one or both partners’ birth stones, a favorite gem etc.

Depending on your individual preferences, and of course your budget, you can either go in for a matched set of rings for the engagement and wedding or for two separate pieces. Many women are going in for the matched set since it becomes easier to wear both together. However, this is purely a matter of personal choice.

One of the considerations to keep in mind when choosing your engagement and wedding rings(In Danish vielsesringe) is the kind of wear and tear they will be undergoing. For example, people who do a lot of work with their hands like chefs, painters, woodworkers etc need to be wary about choosing too delicate or intricate a ring. Similarly, a large or chunky stone setting can make it difficult to type comfortably.

One way of getting around this dilemma is to choose traditional plain gold band for your wedding ring and use the engagement ring to showcase your tastes. Almost any ring design is suitable for an engagement and you can choose between vintage, art deco, Celtic designs etc.

Finally, wait for sometime before making your final choice. Try to visit the jewelry shop a couple of times at different times of the day so that you can examine the piece under different kinds of natural light. Good luck!
